Chainsaw Parts and Power Equipment Parts

Common chainsaw parts like spark plugs and fuel filters are cheap and quick to change, and keeping a few on the truck avoids losing half a day to a saw that will not start.

Buying guide

Wear parts to stock

Spark plugs, fuel filters and air filters are the parts that wear first. Match the plug to the type listed in the owner's manual; the wrong heat range or reach can damage the engine. Maintenance kits bundle the common wear items for a specific saw model.

Swap fuel filters at least once a season and any time the saw bogs under load. For anything beyond routine wear parts, take the saw to a servicing dealer.

Stocking a parts bin

Keep a small bin on the truck with plugs, fuel filters, air filters, a starter rope and a couple of bar nuts for each model your crew runs. Label it by saw model so anyone can grab the right part.

Gap the spark plug as listed in the manual if it is not pre-gapped, and torque it to spec. A fresh plug and fuel filter fix more no-start problems than most people expect. Diamond wheels for power cutters are matched to material and cutter size; check both before ordering.
