Choke and stop control part for the Husqvarna 562XP chainsaw.
This Husqvarna 562XP choke control stop is part of the combined choke and stop control on the 60cc saw. A broken or worn part can make the choke hard to set for starting, or stop the control from shutting the saw off properly.
On the 562XP, the choke and stop functions are combined in one control. Pulling it out sets the choke for a cold start, and moving it to the stop position shuts the engine down. A cracked or worn part in that linkage can leave the choke stuck, slipping or not seating, and can affect stopping.
A saw that will not shut off reliably needs to be repaired before it goes back to work.
Many 562XP starting complaints come from using the choke control wrong rather than from a broken part. Follow the starting procedure in the operator manual. If the control still feels loose, will not stay in position or will not move to stop, inspect the linkage. Plastic parts can crack from cold, impacts or force, and a new part restores a clean, positive feel.
Remove the top cover and air filter to get at the control. Check the parts diagram so you know where this part fits in the linkage, swap it and confirm the control moves through all positions smoothly.
Start the saw and check that the stop position shuts it down every time. Other 562XP parts are in our chainsaw parts section.

It can be the control, the stop switch or the wiring. Stop using the saw and diagnose it before further use.
A worn or broken part in the choke control linkage is a common cause.
