Husqvarna T540i XP Air Filter Cover

This Husqvarna T540i XP air filter cover fits the battery top-handle saw. Even battery saws pull cooling air through the housing, and a cracked or missing cover lets sawdust into places it should not go.

Why a battery saw has an air filter cover

The T540i XP has no carburetor, but its motor and electronics still need cooling air. The air filter and cover keep sawdust out of that airflow. A climbing saw hangs in the dust all day, and fine chips packed into the housing can lead to heat problems.

Covers get cracked when saws are dropped or knocked against stems, and the clips can break with time.

Battery top-handle saws are often run all day by climbers on pruning and removal work, which means steady dust exposure. A blower or soft brush cleans the filter area quickly at lunch and at the end of the day. Do not wash the saw with water or a pressure washer. If the cover clips are getting loose or the cover rattles, replace it before it drops out of the tree.

Fitting and care

Remove the battery first. Take off the old cover, clean out any dust and chips from the filter area and around the cooling path, and fit the new cover so it clips or screws down fully. Clean the area regularly, especially after cutting dry or dusty wood.
