A direct replacement muffler for the X-Torque version of the 372XP.
This Husqvarna 372XP X-Torque muffler replaces a cracked, loose or worn exhaust on the X-Torque version of the 372XP. A sound muffler keeps exhaust heat directed away from you and the saw, holds the spark arrestor screen in place and keeps the saw running as designed.
The 372XP is a workhorse bucking and felling saw, and mufflers take a beating from heat cycles and vibration. Cracks, broken mounting points, a loose heat shield or a muffler that will not hold a bolt torque are all signs it is time. The X-Torque version uses a different muffler from the older 372XP, so confirm your model before ordering.
Check the spark arrestor screen while you are in there. A clogged screen robs power, while a missing or torn one is a fire risk and may break local rules for working in dry areas.
A damaged muffler can also be louder than normal, which adds to the noise exposure you are already dealing with all day.
Let the saw cool fully. Remove the top cover and the muffler bolts, pull the old muffler and gasket, and clean the exhaust port face. Fit a new gasket if the old one is damaged, mount the new muffler and tighten the bolts evenly to the torque in the service manual. Run the saw and recheck the bolts once it has warmed up and cooled again.
If you are not comfortable working on exhaust parts, take it to a qualified saw shop. More saw parts are in our power equipment parts section.
While the muffler is off, inspect the cylinder exhaust port. Scoring or carbon buildup can point to other problems a saw shop should look at.

No. Order the muffler made for your saw's version and check the model plate before buying.
If the gasket is torn, burnt or brittle, yes. A poor seal lets hot exhaust leak where it should not.
