Pivot bushing for the chain brake hand guard on Husqvarna chainsaws.
This Husqvarna chain brake bushing sits at the pivot of the chain brake hand guard. A worn or missing bushing lets the guard flop or bind, which can affect how the chain brake engages.
The chain brake is one of the main protections against kickback. The hand guard has to pivot freely so it can trip the brake, either from your hand pushing it forward or from inertia in a kickback. A worn bushing lets the guard wobble, and a damaged one can make it stick.
If the chain brake does not engage crisply and stop the chain, do not use the saw until it is fixed.
Sawdust, pitch and bar oil collect around the hand guard pivot. Clean the area during regular service and check the guard for side play. A guard that wobbles, sticks, or does not spring back fully may have a worn bushing, a weak spring or a damaged guard. If you are not sure the brake works correctly after the repair, have a dealer check it before the saw is used.
Check the parts diagram for your saw to confirm this is the right bushing. Remove the hand guard, take out the old bushing, fit the new one and reassemble with the correct fasteners. Then test the brake: it should snap on firmly and release cleanly.
If the guard itself is cracked or bent, replace it too. Find hand guards and other parts in our chainsaw parts section.

Specs are from the manufacturer's published figures where available. Confirm against the product listing before you buy.
Follow the operator manual. The usual check is to engage the brake with the saw running at the right speed on a stable surface and confirm the chain stops immediately.
It depends on the model. Check the parts listing or a Husqvarna parts lookup for your saw.
