Replacement ignition coil and module for the Husqvarna 572XP chainsaw.
This Husqvarna 572XP ignition module assembly replaces the coil that makes spark for the 70cc pro saw. When a 572XP has fuel and compression but no spark, or quits once it is hot, the ignition module is a common suspect.
Before buying a module, check the cheap things. Fit a new spark plug, inspect the plug lead and boot, and check the stop switch wire for a short to ground. Then use a spark tester. No spark with a good plug and switch points to the module.
A module that is failing can also act up only when hot. If the saw runs fine, dies after a few tanks and restarts after cooling, the coil is a good suspect.
Ignition modules are not cheap, so it pays to be sure before buying. Swapping in a module from another 572XP, if your shop has one, is the fastest way to confirm a diagnosis. Also check the flywheel for damaged magnets or a sheared key, which can mimic a bad coil. Some 572XP saws use a different listed ignition part, so match your saw's model and serial before ordering.
The module mounts next to the flywheel. Set the gap between the module and the flywheel magnets to the figure in the service manual, using a gauge, and tighten the screws evenly. A gap that is too wide gives weak spark.
Reconnect the stop switch wire and route the plug lead so it is not pinched. For the related 572XP MP part and other ignition items, see our chainsaw parts section.
