Service parts for a routine tune-up on the 545 Mark II and 550 XP Mark II saws.
A Husqvarna 550 XP Mark II tune-up kit puts the common wear parts for a routine service in one package, and it fits the 545 Mark II as well. It is the easy way to bring a hard-working ground saw back to clean starts and full power after a season of bucking and limbing.
The 545 Mark II and 550 XP Mark II are workhorse 50cc-class saws for limbing, bucking, and small felling. They run on AutoTune, which adjusts the mixture on its own, but it can only work with what it is given. A choked air filter, a tired spark plug, or a dirty fuel filter will still cost you power and make the saw hard to start.
Replacing those wear parts together is quick and cheap compared with the downtime of a saw that will not start at the chipper. Many crews do it at the start of the season and again whenever a saw has been run hard in dusty wood. Find more service parts in our power equipment parts section.
Work on a cool saw with the switch off and the chain brake on. Clean around the covers before you open them so grit does not fall into the intake. Fit new parts as the operator's manual describes, gap and torque the plug to spec, and use fresh, correctly mixed fuel afterward.
Compare the kit contents with your saw's parts list before you start, and if the saw still runs poorly after a tune-up, have a dealer check it rather than chasing settings yourself.

Follow the manual's maintenance schedule. Most working crews clean the air filter often and replace the wear parts at least once a season.
