A replacement drive belt to keep a Husqvarna K770 power cutter on the job.
The Husqvarna K770 belt is the replacement drive belt for the K770 cut-off saw, the power cutter many crews carry for cutting cable, bolts, and hardware on removals and storm work. A worn belt slips and stalls the blade, so a spare in the truck box keeps the saw working.
A power cutter's belt does a lot of work. Signs it is due: the blade slows or stops in the cut while the engine keeps revving, you smell hot rubber, or you can see cracks, glazing, fraying, or missing ribs on the belt. Running a slipping belt only builds heat and wears the pulleys.
On tree jobs the K770 tends to come out for cutting old cable-and-bracing hardware, embedded bolts, or chain, so it may sit for weeks between uses. Check the belt before you need it, not when you are standing at the stump. More replacement parts are in our power equipment parts section.
With the engine off and the blade removed or guarded, remove the belt guard, release the tension, and slip the old belt off. Fit the new belt, set tension as the operator's manual describes, and refit the guard before you start the saw.
Run the saw briefly, then recheck tension, because a new belt seats in. Wear eye, hearing, and respiratory protection when cutting, and keep the blade guard set to throw sparks and debris away from you and the crew.
Store the spare belt flat in its packaging, out of sun and away from fuel, so it is in good shape when you finally need it.

It is listed for the K770. For other models, check the parts list for your saw before ordering.
A slipping or loose belt is the most common cause. Check tension and belt condition first.
