The muffler gasket for the 372XP X-Torque. Fit a new one every time the muffler comes off.
This Husqvarna 372XP muffler gasket seals the muffler to the cylinder on the 372XP X-Torque. A burnt or torn gasket leaks hot exhaust, leaves soot around the cylinder and can let the muffler work loose, so it is a part to replace whenever the muffler is removed.
Heat cycles and vibration break down muffler gaskets over time. A loose muffler speeds this up. Signs include soot around the muffler joint, a louder saw, or exhaust leaking near the cylinder.
Gaskets compress when tightened, so an old one rarely seals properly again. Replace it every time the muffler comes off.
The 372XP X-Torque is a 70 cc class saw that runs hot, especially when bucking big wood. That heat breaks down gaskets faster than on smaller saws. Keeping a spare gasket on hand saves you from running a muffler without one, which can lead to leaks and damage. If you are replacing the muffler or checking the piston, always fit a new gasket during reassembly.
Let the saw cool fully. Remove the muffler, clean the cylinder face and muffler flange, and fit the new gasket in the correct orientation. Tighten the muffler screws to spec and recheck after the first few hours of running.
Tighten the muffler screws evenly so the gasket compresses flat all the way around. Uneven torque is a common reason a new gasket leaks. After the saw has run and cooled, check the screws once more.
While the muffler is off, inspect the piston through the exhaust port for scoring. More 372XP parts are in our chainsaw parts section.

It is not recommended. Gaskets compress and usually don't seal properly again.
Not always. Order the part listed for the X-Torque model.
