WestCoast Clutch Cover for Stihl Saws

This WestCoast clutch cover is an aftermarket replacement sprocket cover for Stihl chainsaws, made by WestCoast Saw. It replaces a cracked, stripped or worn cover so the bar clamps down properly and the clutch and chain stay guarded.

When to replace the cover

The clutch cover takes a beating. It clamps the bar, houses the chain catcher area and often carries the chain brake on some models. Cracks, stripped bar nut studs, a worn chain tensioner or a cover that will not clamp the bar firmly all mean it is time for a new one.

A replacement cover is often cheaper and faster than repairing stripped studs or a cracked casting.

Stihl's own covers vary by model and some carry the chain brake, so match the part carefully and compare it with your old cover before fitting.

Fitting it safely

Engage the chain brake if your cover carries it, remove the bar nuts and old cover, and clean out sawdust and oil buildup. Fit the new cover, set chain tension and tighten the bar nuts. Check that the chain brake engages and releases properly before cutting.
