Replacement sprocket nose that puts a worn PowerMatch bar back to work.
The Husqvarna replaceable bar nose fits Husqvarna PowerMatch guide bars, letting you replace a worn or seized sprocket nose without buying a whole new bar. On longer pro bars, the nose usually wears out before the rails, so this is the cheap way to get more life from a good bar.
The nose sprocket takes the hardest wear on a bar, especially on a saw that does a lot of bore cuts, felling and dirty bucking. Signs it is done: the sprocket won't spin freely, teeth are worn or chipped, there is side play, or the nose gets hot fast. A seized nose will wreck chain quickly.
If the rails are still square and the bar is straight, a new nose is the right call.
PowerMatch is a Husqvarna name used on some pro bars and drive systems, and nose types differ by bar series, pitch and gauge. Before ordering, check the markings on your bar and match the nose to it. A wrong nose will not fit the rivet pattern or will not run the chain properly. If your bar does not have a replaceable nose, this part will not fit, and a new bar is the answer.
Replaceable noses are riveted on. Drill or grind out the old rivets, fit the new nose, and peen new rivets so the nose sits flush with the rails. Match the pitch and gauge of your bar and chain exactly. If you don't have the tools or the patience, a saw shop can do it quickly.
Dress the rails and check chain fit after the swap. More bar and saw parts are in our chainsaw parts category.
