A replacement filter felt for the Husqvarna 395XP air filter.
This Husqvarna 395XP air filter felt is a replacement filter element for one of the biggest saws a tree crew runs. The 395XP pulls a lot of air, and a clean, intact felt keeps fine dust out of the cylinder.
A 395XP is usually the felling and bucking saw for the biggest wood on the job. It works hard and makes a lot of chips. A plugged felt robs it of power and a torn one lets dust wear the piston and rings. Both are cheap to fix compared with a top end.

Big saws also tend to sit in the truck between jobs, which means dust settles into the filter area. Check the felt before starting a saw that has been parked for a while.
Look at the felt every tank on dusty work. Clean it as Husqvarna recommends, and replace it if it is torn, matted with oil, or no longer seals.
Make sure the felt sits right in the filter housing before you close the cover so air cannot bypass it.
Carry a spare felt in the saw kit so you can swap a dirty one in the field and clean it later. If you see dust inside the carb side of the filter, the filter isn't sealing; find out why before running the saw again. Check the carburetor intake for dust each time you change the filter.
