A replacement muffler for the 562XP when the old one cracks or rattles.
This Husqvarna 562XP muffler replaces a cracked, damaged or worn muffler on the 562XP. A muffler that is loose or broken can let hot exhaust and sparks go where they shouldn't, increase noise, and damage nearby parts, so replace it when it starts to fail.
Mufflers take heat and vibration all day, and on a busy felling and bucking saw like the 562XP they can crack around the mounts or the outlet. Signs include a new rattle, soot around seams, exhaust coming from the wrong place, or a louder saw.
Check the spark arrestor screen during routine service, too. A clogged screen costs power.
The 562XP is a 60 cc class saw that sees a lot of hard work on tree crews, and its muffler takes plenty of heat. A damaged muffler can also cause the saw to run poorly. A clogged spark arrestor screen or a cracked baffle can restrict exhaust flow and reduce power. If the saw feels down on power and the muffler is damaged, replacing it may restore performance. Keep the screen clean.
Let the saw cool fully. Remove the top cover and old muffler, clean the cylinder face and fit a new gasket. Mount the new muffler and tighten the screws to the torque in the service manual. Recheck the screws after the first hours of running.
Never run a saw with a damaged muffler, as hot exhaust and sparks can be a fire hazard. More 562XP parts are in our chainsaw parts section.
