OEM cylinder assembly for rebuilding the top end of a Husqvarna 572XP.
This Husqvarna 572XP cylinder assembly replaces the cylinder on the 70.6cc pro saw. It is the core part of a top-end rebuild when the cylinder is scored, worn or damaged.
Light scuffing can sometimes be cleaned up, but deep scoring, a worn coating or damage to the bore means a new cylinder. Low compression, hard starting and lost power on a 572XP that is otherwise healthy are typical reasons to look at the top end.
Confirm what the listing includes. If the piston is worn or scored, replace it at the same time.
A new cylinder is a big investment, so take care with break-in. Use fresh fuel mixed at the ratio in the operator manual, warm the saw up before heavy cuts, and check that the carburetor is not set too lean. Recheck the saw after the first few tanks. A pressure and vacuum test is also cheap insurance before the saw goes back to full-time work.
Find the cause of the failure first: check the intake, crank seals, fuel system and air filter. Use a new base gasket, install the piston correctly, and torque the cylinder fasteners evenly to spec. A pressure and vacuum test before startup is the best check.
If you are not set up for engine work, a dealer can do the job. The matching gasket is in our chainsaw parts section.
