A replacement recoil starter handle for the Husqvarna 372XP chainsaw.
This Husqvarna 372XP starter handle replaces a cracked or broken grip on the saw's recoil starter rope. It is a small part, but a broken handle makes the saw awkward and unsafe to start.
The starter handle takes a hard pull every time you start the saw and gets knocked against the bar, the truck bed, and the ground. Once it cracks, it can cut your hand or break in the middle of a pull.
Replacing the handle is a quick job, often done at the same time as a new starter rope. Browse other power equipment parts for starter ropes and other wear items.
Recoil starter parts are among the most common wear items on a busy saw, so it makes sense to keep a spare handle and a length of starter rope with your saw kit. If the old handle broke because the rope was fraying or the starter was binding, fix that too, or the new handle will not last.
Thread the starter rope through the handle and tie it off as the service manual shows, so the knot sits inside the grip and the rope retracts fully. Check the rope for fraying while you are in there.
Start the saw on the ground with the chain brake on and a firm grip, never by drop-starting. Wear chainsaw protection, eye and hearing protection, and follow the operator's manual and ANSI Z133 when running or servicing a saw.

Check the listing. Handles are often sold alone, so you may need rope separately.
