This Husqvarna 562XP oil pump assembly is the replacement pump that feeds bar and chain oil to the bar. If the bar is running dry even with a clean bar oil hole and a full tank, the pump is the next thing to check.

Is it the pump?

A saw that throws no oil off the chain will cook a bar and chain fast. Before replacing the pump, clean the oil hole on the bar and the bar mount, check the tank pickup filter, and look for a cracked or pinched oil line. If those are good and the saw still runs dry, the pump or its drive is likely worn.

Hold the running saw over a light surface and rev it; a healthy pump throws a visible line of oil within a few seconds.

Running a saw without proper oiling quickly heats the bar, stretches the chain and wears the sprocket and bar rails. Even a short stretch of cutting with no oil can do real damage. Replacing the pump early, once oiling becomes weak or uneven, is much cheaper than replacing a scorched bar and chain along with it.

Fitting the new pump

Follow Husqvarna's service information, check the pump drive gear or worm on the crank side, and set any adjustable flow screw to suit your bar length. More parts are in power equipment parts.

Work on a cool saw with the spark plug lead off, and test the chain brake and oiling before cutting.
