Maintenance

This Husqvarna 572XP front handle assembly replaces the wraparound front handlebar on the 570-class pro saw. A bent or cracked handle changes how the saw sits in your hands and how well you can control kickback, so it should be replaced, not straightened.

Why the front handle matters

The front handle is your main point of control when the bar kicks, pinches or climbs out of a cut. A handle that has been bent from a dropped saw or a log rolling over it can put your left hand in the wrong place and reduce your leverage at the worst moment.

Bending an aluminum or tubular handle back into shape weakens it. A new assembly is the safe repair, and it is a common fix on saws that see hard felling and bucking work.

Check the handle after any hard drop, a saw that got pinned under a log or a tree that sat back on the bar. Look for kinks, cracks near the mounts and play between the handle and the saw body. A handle that is slightly out of line can be hard to spot by eye, so compare the gap at the hand guard with a known good saw if you run more than one 572XP.

Fitting tips

The handle attaches to the saw body and connects through anti-vibration elements. Remove the old handle, inspect the AV springs or rubber mounts and replace any that are torn or stretched, then fit the new handle and tighten the fasteners to spec.

Before going back to work, confirm the chain brake hand guard moves freely and engages properly. Matching AV elements are in our chainsaw parts section.
