The screw that holds a Husqvarna AV spring or buffer in place.
This Husqvarna anti vibration mount screw secures the springs or rubber buffers that isolate the handles from the engine on Husqvarna chainsaws. When an AV screw goes missing, the handle gets sloppy, vibration climbs, and the remaining mounts take extra strain.
Anti-vibration mounts are the reason you can run a saw all day without your hands going numb. Over months of bucking and limbing, mounts and their screws work loose or break. A saw with a loose AV mount feels wobbly in the rear or top handle and transmits more vibration to your hands and arms.
Long-term vibration exposure is a real health risk for saw operators, so keep the AV system in good shape.
AV springs and buffers are part of what separates a pro saw from a cheap one. On Husqvarna pro saws, the AV system is designed so the handles float on springs or buffers, and each mount depends on its screws to stay in place. If a screw goes missing, the remaining mounts take extra load and wear faster. Fix it as soon as you notice it, not at the end of the season.
Confirm the screw for your saw model, as length and thread vary by mount. Clean the threads, seat the spring or buffer correctly, and tighten to spec. Use thread locker only where the service manual calls for it.
If a spring is broken or a rubber buffer is torn, replace it too. Find mounts and other parts in our chainsaw parts category.
