Maintenance

This Husqvarna 372XP air filter replaces a torn, clogged, or worn filter on one of the most popular professional saws ever made. A clean filter keeps the 372XP pulling hard in big wood and protects the engine from fine dust.

Keeping a 372XP breathing

Plenty of 372XPs are still running on tree crews years after they were bought, and a good part of that comes down to basic maintenance. The air filter is first in line: when it clogs, the saw runs rich, loses power, and gets harder to start. When it tears, dust gets into the cylinder and wears the engine.

A replacement filter is cheap insurance on a saw you rely on. Browse other power equipment parts for a full tune-up.

The 372XP is a 70 cc class saw that spends a lot of its life bucking and felling in dusty conditions. Keeping a spare filter in the saw kit means you can swap a dirty one on site and clean it properly back at the shop.

Cleaning and replacing

Check and clean the filter daily, and more often when cutting dry or dead wood. Replace it when it is torn, warped, or no longer cleans up, and confirm it seats fully in the housing.

Brush debris away from the cover before opening it so nothing falls into the intake. Wear chainsaw protection, eye and hearing protection, and follow the operator's manual and ANSI Z133 when running or servicing a saw.
