Replacement nut that holds the bar and clutch cover on Husqvarna chainsaws.
This Husqvarna bar nut holds the clutch cover and guide bar tight against the saw body. Nuts get lost in the grass during chain changes or stripped from overtightening, and without one the saw cannot run.
Bar nuts come off every time you change a chain or flip a bar. Drop one in leaf litter or snow and the saw is done for the day. A couple of spares in the saw box or a pocket of the gear bag cost very little.
Overtightening with a long wrench can round the nut or damage the stud threads. Snug the nut firmly with the scrench after setting chain tension, without leaning on it.
If the clutch cover keeps loosening during cuts, check the nut, the stud and the cover itself. A cracked cover or a damaged stud can let the bar shift, and a loose bar throws chains and wears the rails. A good nut and a solid stud keep the bar clamped. Check tension again after the first few cuts with a new chain, since new chains stretch.
Husqvarna saws do not all use the same bar nut, so check the thread and style for your model. Some covers use captive nuts that stay in the cover. If the bar stud itself is damaged, replace it too, since a new nut will not hold on stripped threads.
