Advance your climbing to a whole new level. Lightweight, compact, and easy to use, the RIG descender from Petzl allows you to smoothly descend a rope, control your descent, and self-belay.

Get the extra control you need with the Petzl RIG Descender Belay Device. This multi-functional handle allows you to unblock the rope and control your descent with one hand while also positioning yourself while on the rope without tying it off on your harness. The automatic return system on the handle limits your risk in case of an involuntary action by you during emergencies.

The handle storage position reduces the risk of snagging when the descender is carried on your harness. The Petzl RIG Descender Belay Device allows you to descend freely with a rope at a fixed point. It is designed for use with single dynamic ropes of 10.5 to 11.5 mm in diameter.

The Petzl RIG Descender features an automatic-locking system that holds the rope without the user having to hold it. Pivoting cam facilitates taking up the slack in the rope, making it easy to lock off on an overhead obstacle. It can also be used to make a reversible haul system and for short ascents (in conjunction with a FOOTPRO foot loop and an ASCENSION handled rope clamp).
