Slot-mount Peltor muffs for crews who live under a helmet all day.
Peltor Optime helmet mounted ear muffs clip into the accessory slots on your hard hat or climbing helmet so hearing protection is always where your head is. Flip them up to talk to the ground crew, snap them down when the saw starts.
Helmet mounted earmuffs solve the biggest hearing protection problem on a job: they never get left in the truck. When the muffs ride on the helmet, the climber has them in the canopy and the ground crew has them at the chipper without thinking about it.
Optime muffs clip into the side slots found on many industrial hard hats and arborist helmets. Check that your helmet takes slot-mount accessories before ordering, and make sure the mount does not interfere with chin straps or face screens.
Adjust the arms so the cups sit centered over your ears with the cushions flat on your head. Hair, safety glasses arms and hoods all break the seal, so keep them out of the way. Replace cushions when they stiffen.
Hearing loss from saws and chippers is permanent and gradual. Wear protection every time an engine is running, and pair muffs with plugs on very loud work like stump grinding. Shop the rest of our arborist helmets and accessories to build a complete setup.
Store the helmet with the muffs in the parked position, not pressed against the shell, so the cushions keep their shape. Swap cushions with a hygiene kit when they harden or crack, and check the mounting arms for cracks after any drop.

They fit helmets with standard accessory slots. Many arborist helmets have them, but check your model or its adapter options first.
On most slotted helmets, yes. Fit both and confirm the screen and cups clear each other before you head up the tree.
