SafetyMaintenance

The LIFT Radix replacement pad kit swaps out the comfort pads inside your helmet once they are flattened, stained or starting to smell. Fresh pads bring back a snug fit and make long days under the helmet more comfortable.

When to replace the pads

Comfort pads soak up sweat every day, and after a season they compress, harden, or come loose. That changes how the helmet sits on your head, and a helmet that rocks or rides high is one you end up adjusting all day. Swapping the pads is a cheap fix that brings the fit back.

Pads do not affect the helmet's impact rating the way the shell and suspension do, but a good fit keeps the helmet where it should be when something hits it.

Fresh pads also help keep the helmet clean and cut down on the smell that builds up in a helmet worn all summer. Keeping a spare kit in the truck means you can swap them mid-season without waiting on an order.

Swapping them out

Peel or unclip the old pads, clean the inside of the shell with mild soap and water, and let it dry. Press the new pads into the same positions and check the fit before you go back to work. Any helmet used for tree work should meet the standard your employer and ANSI Z133 require, be worn as the manufacturer instructs, and be replaced after a hard impact or when the shell or suspension shows damage.

For a full refresh, replace the suspension too. Both are listed in our helmets and hearing protection section.
