Replacement suspension for the LIFT Radix when the harness is worn or damaged.
The LIFT Radix suspension kit replaces the harness that holds the shell off your head. The suspension is part of how a helmet manages impact, so a cracked, stretched or brittle one should be replaced.
The shell spreads a blow, but the suspension holds the shell away from your skull and absorbs part of the energy. Over time, sweat, UV and constant adjusting make plastic brittle and straps stretch. When the clips no longer lock firmly, a strap is cracked, or the shell sits low on your head, it is time for a new suspension.
Many helmet makers recommend replacing the suspension on a regular schedule even when it looks fine. Follow LIFT's guidance for the Radix.
Replacing the suspension is also the right move if someone else has been wearing your helmet and stretched the fit, or if a clip has broken off. It costs a fraction of a new helmet and takes a few minutes.
Unclip the old suspension from the shell, clip in the new one at each attachment point, and adjust the ratchet and height so the helmet sits level. Check every clip is fully seated before wearing it. Any helmet used for tree work should meet the standard your employer and ANSI Z133 require, be worn as the manufacturer instructs, and be replaced after a hard impact or when the shell or suspension shows damage.
Pads and other helmet parts are in our helmets and hearing protection section.
