Hardware to set up a speedline and send brush and wood to a clear drop zone.
The CMI speed line kit gathers the hardware a crew needs to rig a speedline, a tensioned line that carries brush and wood out of the tree to a clear drop zone. It is a time saver on jobs where you cannot drop anything under the tree.
On a tight backyard job, the hard part is often not cutting the wood but getting it to the ground somewhere safe. A speedline runs from high in the tree to an anchor near the chipper or drop zone. Each piece is clipped on and rides down the line, over the roof, fence or flower beds below.
A kit saves you from hunting down matched parts. Check the listing for exactly what is included and add slings or a tensioning system as needed. More kits are in our rigging kits section.
Speedlines put big loads on both anchors, and the more you tension the line, the higher those forces get. Choose sound anchors, keep the angle sensible, control the speed of each piece, and keep everyone clear of the line and the landing zone.
Inspect pulleys, connectors and rope before each use. Rigging gear is for moving wood, not for life support. Match every component to the load with a working margin, follow the manufacturer's ratings and ANSI Z133, and make sure the crew is trained in rigging before relying on it. Note when each piece went into service, so worn gear gets retired on time instead of living on the truck for years.

Brush and manageable wood that the line, hardware and anchors are rated for. Large wood belongs on a lowering system.
Only as tight as needed for clearance. Over-tensioning multiplies the load on the anchors and hardware.
