Safety

The Kask SC2 ear defenders are helmet-mounted earmuffs that clip into Kask Super Plasma and Zenith helmets, giving you hearing protection that swings up when you need to talk. Yellow cups match yellow helmets and make you easy to see.

Why helmet-mounted muffs

Saws, chippers, and stump grinders are loud enough to cause hearing loss over a career. Helmet-mounted muffs are always there when you need them, and they flip up when the saw shuts off so you can talk to the crew.

The SC2 is built to clip into Kask's helmet slots, so it sits right without adapters. Check that your helmet is a compatible model before ordering.

Helmet-mounted muffs also stay with the helmet in the truck, so nobody shows up to the chipper without hearing protection because they left their muffs at home.

The SC2 is meant to integrate with the helmet's other accessories, so you can run a visor and muffs together and keep your eyes and ears covered at the same time.

Fit and care

Check that the cups seal fully around your ears; long hair, glasses arms, and hats under the helmet can break the seal. Replace ear pads when they harden or crack. See other hearing protection options too.

Check the rated noise reduction on the product listing and match it to your exposure. Many crews also wear plugs under muffs for chipper and grinder work.

Muffs that are cracked, crushed, or no longer clamp firmly should be replaced. Check that the arms still hold position up and down.

Wipe the cups clean, and keep them out of the sun on the truck dash, which can harden the seals faster.
