SafetyApparel

The Pfanner Protos neck guard hangs from the back of the Protos helmet and covers your neck from sun, sawdust and rain. It is a simple add-on that makes a long day of cutting, chipping or climbing more comfortable.

A small add-on that pays off

Sawdust down the back of your shirt and a sunburned neck are two of the small things that wear a crew down by mid-afternoon. The Protos neck guard covers that gap below the helmet brim. It is useful on the ground running a saw, bucking under an open sky, and up in the tree when chips are raining down from your own cuts.

It attaches to the Protos shell, so it moves with the helmet instead of flapping loose like a bandana.

On cold, wet days it also keeps rain from running down your back, which makes a real difference when you are working all day in the weather. When it is not needed, it comes off and folds into a pocket or gear bag. The guard is a comfort item rather than protective equipment, so it does not change how the helmet protects you.

Fit and care

Check that the guard does not interfere with ear muffs or the chin strap once it is fitted, and keep it clear of the saw when you look over your shoulder. Wash it with mild soap and let it dry in the shade.
