DMM XSRE Carabiners

The DMM XSRE is a small non-locking accessory carabiner for racking gear on a saddle, gear bag or truck rack. It is light, cleanly made and easy to clip with gloves, which makes it a solid choice for handsaws, slings and spare cord.

Racking that works

A tidy rack saves time aloft. Put the things you reach for most on the front loops, keep rescue gear in a fixed spot, and use clips like the XSRE so each item lives in one place. You will stop hunting for the hitch cord you know you brought.

Using a distinct accessory clip for racking also keeps your rated carabiners free for the system.

The XSRE is small enough that you can carry several without noticing the weight. Give each one a job and keep it there: one for the handsaw scabbard, one for spare hitch cord, one for a throw bag. Your hand will learn where everything lives.

Not a climbing connector

Accessory carabiners are not life-support equipment. Never put one into a climbing, rigging or rescue system. For rated connectors, look at the DMM Shadow or our other locking carabiners.

It is also good practice to pick a racking clip that looks different from your rated hardware. If the whole crew knows the small clips are for racking only, nobody grabs one in a hurry to close a system. Retire any accessory clip with a bent gate or sharp edges, since it can still damage slings and rope.
