DMM Vault Lock Racking Carabiner

The DMM Vault Lock is a gear racking carabiner with a locking gate. It is made for hanging tools and gear from your saddle, not for life support, and the lock keeps your kit from unclipping when you move through the canopy.

Keeping kit organized

A tidy saddle saves time aloft. The Vault Lock gives you a dedicated place to rack spare carabiners, slings, a handsaw, or rigging bits, and its shape spreads the items out so you can see and grab the one you want.

The locking gate is the reason to choose this version. Moving through tight branches can push open a plain racking clip and drop your gear on the ground crew. With the gate locked, the kit stays put until you want it.

Not for life support

Racking clips and tool hooks are made to carry gear, not people. Keep them visibly different from the connectors in your climbing system so nobody grabs one by mistake in a hurry. A different color or shape on the saddle helps, and so does keeping them on the gear loops only.

Check them now and then like any other hardware: a gate that no longer closes, a bent hook, or a cracked body means it goes in the bin.
