ISC Oval Accessory Carabiner

The ISC oval accessory carabiner is a simple non-locking clip for hanging gear on your saddle loops. It keeps spare pulleys, a throw bag or a pole saw cord organized so you can find them without looking.

What it is for

Every climber ends up with too much hanging off the saddle. Accessory carabiners are how you keep it sorted: one for spare hardware, one for the throw bag, one for a lanyard you are not using. The oval shape lets items sit in the middle of the clip instead of sliding into a corner, and a plain gate is fast to open with a gloved hand.

Rack them on the gear loops or saddle storage points, not on your bridge or the attachment points that carry your weight.

Clip a couple to the back of the saddle for the gear you only need now and then, and keep the ones up front for what you reach for most. A simple, consistent rack means less fumbling for the right tool when you are tied in and working a limb.

Know the limits

An accessory carabiner is a storage clip. Do not use it to tie in, to connect a lanyard, or in a rigging system, even for a light load. Life-support connectors need to be rated for that job, locking where required, and used as the manufacturer and ANSI Z133 direct.
