Climbing

The Petzl Mino carabiner is a small accessory clip for organizing gear on a saddle loop or bag. It keeps slings, hitch cords and hand tools where you can find them without tying up a rated carabiner.

Where it earns its spot

Every climber has a pile of small stuff that needs a home: a handsaw scabbard, spare hitch cord, a rescue pulley, a throw weight. Accessory clips like the Mino keep that stuff sorted on your saddle loops so the rated hardware stays free for the system.

They also work in the truck and in gear bags for hanging slings and lanyards so they dry and stay untangled.

Clips like this also make it easy to hand off gear. Unclip a sling from your rack and pass it to a co-climber without touching your system hardware.

Keep it out of the system

An accessory carabiner is not a climbing connector. Never use it in your climbing, rigging or rescue system, and keep it a different color or shape from your rated gear so nobody grabs the wrong one in a hurry. For rated connectors, browse our carabiners and hardware.

It is worth taking a few minutes to sort your rack before a big job. Put racking clips on the loops where gear hangs, rated carabiners on the bridge and side rings, and keep the two from mixing. That habit pays off when you are tired at the end of a long day and reaching for things by feel.
