Auto-locking D-shaped carabiner for arborist climbing kits.
This Husqvarna D shape carabiner has an auto-locking gate and the asymmetric profile that keeps loads near the strong spine. It is a practical connector for lanyards, friction savers, and general climbing hardware.
A D-shaped carabiner pushes the load toward the spine, which is the strongest part of the carabiner. That makes it a good choice where loading is predictable: on a lanyard end, a friction saver ring, or a pulley. An auto-locking gate means you do not have to remember to screw it shut after every clip.
For devices that can twist or shift, such as some hitch setups, consider an oval or pear shape instead so the carabiner stays seated.
Husqvarna sells a range of climbing hardware alongside its saws, and this D-shape is meant as a general connector for the gear bag. Having a few matching carabiners makes it easier to standardize your kit so everything on the saddle works the same way.
Confirm the strength markings and any certification on the spine meet your requirements for life support. Check that the gate opens, closes, and locks fully without sticking, and keep it clean of sap and grit. Retire carabiners that have been dropped from height or show cracks, sharp edges, or worn grooves.
Life-support gear must meet the applicable standard (ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions), be inspected before every climb, and be used only by trained climbers. Browse more auto-locking carabiners.
Keep carabiners used for life support separate from those used for gear and rigging.

A D-shape is stronger along the spine for predictable loads. Ovals keep devices centered and are better for some pulley and rope-grab setups.
Only if its markings and certification meet the standard required for your life-support system. Check the spine before use.
