BucketPro grade

The AE2129 is a bucket truck scuff pad that takes the rubbing and abrasion that would otherwise wear down an aerial lift bucket. It is a simple part that helps keep the bucket in good shape on busy trimming crews.

Why a scuff pad matters

A bucket gets dragged against limbs, pole hardware and the truck body all day. A scuff pad takes that wear in place of the bucket shell, and it is far cheaper to replace than repairing a damaged bucket. Crews also fit pads where tools and saws rest so they do not grind into the bucket.

Scuff pads are a wear item, so it pays to keep a spare on the truck. When you swap one, clean the mounting area, check the fasteners and look for any cracks or gouges in the bucket underneath. Catching wear early is cheaper than replacing a bucket or liner, and it keeps the truck ready for the next job.

Check the part number against your bucket and truck model before ordering. You can find liners, covers and other bucket truck accessories in the same section.

Bucket condition and safety

On insulated aerial devices, anything that cuts or gouges the bucket or liner can matter for dielectric protection. Inspect the bucket and liner on your daily walk-around, keep them clean of sap and debris, and follow the truck manufacturer's guidance for any added parts.

Wear the fall protection your employer and the lift maker require whenever you are in the bucket, and keep minimum approach distances to energized lines under ANSI Z133.
