Notch Sentei Replacement Blade

This Notch Sentei replacement blade lets you put a new blade on your existing Sentei saw instead of replacing the whole tool. Hardened pull-stroke teeth are hard to resharpen, so a new blade is the quickest way back to clean cuts.

When to swap the blade

A pruning saw blade is a wear part. Once the teeth are rounded, the saw starts to bind, burn, and tear bark, and you work twice as hard for a ragged cut. A kinked blade is worse: it wanders in the kerf and can snap. Either way, a new blade costs a fraction of a new saw and puts the edge back in a few minutes.

Fitting and care

Tighten the blade bolt firmly so the blade does not rock in the handle, and check it again after the first few cuts. Keep fingers clear of the teeth while swapping; wear gloves.

Wipe sap off the blade at the end of the day and give it a light coat of oil to slow rust. Cut on the pull stroke and let the teeth do the work; forcing the saw on the push is what kinks blades. Keep the saw in a scabbard on the saddle and in the truck.
