Pruning

This Silky Hayate 390mm replacement blade has extra-large teeth and is sold as a blade only. It fits the Hayate telescoping pole saw and is built to move quickly through larger green limbs from the ground.

Big teeth for big limbs

The Hayate is Silky's telescoping pole saw, and the 390 mm extra-large-tooth blade is the aggressive choice for it. Big teeth take a large bite with each pull, which is what you want for clearing green limbs overhead. The tradeoff is a rougher cut face than a finer tooth, so some climbers keep a second blade for finish pruning.

This is the blade only. Confirm you have the Hayate before ordering. Other pole saw and hand saw blades are in our blades section.

Swapping and care

Change the blade on the ground with the pole collapsed and laid flat. Check that it is seated and the fasteners are tight before you extend the pole. Wear gloves when you handle a bare blade, keep it in a scabbard or cover when it is not in use, and never cut toward your body or your lanyard.

Wipe off sap and keep the blade dry. Never use a pole saw near energized power lines unless you are a trained, qualified line-clearance arborist with the right equipment, and keep the minimum approach distances in ANSI Z133. Keep the blade cover on whenever the pole is in the truck.
