PruningGround

This Jameson 8 foot pole is a hollow core fiberglass section for building or extending a pole saw and pruner setup. Hollow construction keeps it light, which matters when you are holding a saw overhead for most of the day.

Building out your reach

Jameson poles are made to connect, so an 8-foot section can be the first pole on a saw or the extra length that gets you to a high limb. Eight feet is long enough to make a real difference in reach while staying manageable on its own.

Hollow core is the lighter option. If you want a pole that stays clean inside, a foam-filled section is the alternative, but for general ground pruning the hollow jameson pole keeps weight off your arms.

Many crews keep a mix of lengths on the truck. An 8-foot section paired with a shorter base pole covers a wide range of heights without carrying more pole than the cut needs. Fewer joints also means less flex at the head.

Inspection and storage

Check every pole before use for cracks, splintered fibers, crushed ends and worn fittings. Wipe off sap and dirt and store the poles dry and off the ground. Retire any section that is damaged.

A hollow pole is not the choice for work near energized lines. Only qualified line-clearance arborists should work near utilities, with tools rated and tested per ANSI Z133. See matching heads and kits in poles and kits.

If a fitting gets loose or worn, do not tape it up and keep going. A sloppy connection lets the head twist mid-cut and puts extra stress on the fiberglass right at the joint.
