PruningClimbing

The Silky Pocketboy 130 is a compact folding saw with a 130 mm blade, here with large teeth for fast cuts in green wood. It folds small enough for a pocket or gear bag and is handy for small cuts and clean-up.

Small saw, lots of uses

The Pocketboy 130 is the saw you carry when you do not want to carry a saw. It handles small pruning cuts, clearing twigs from a throw line path, trimming a stub, and odd jobs around the truck. The large-tooth blade bites fast in green wood; finer teeth leave a smoother cut in dry wood.

For regular climbing work, most arborists still carry a full-size saw in a scabbard. See our hand saws and scabbards for 13-inch options.

Ground crews like it for trimming brush to fit the chipper, cutting small roots during planting and freeing a stuck throw line from a twig. It also rides in a first-aid or emergency kit for cutting branches in an awkward spot.

Carrying and care

Make sure the blade locks fully open before every cut, and fold it closed before you pocket it. Do not use it as a primary climbing saw on a lanyard cut; keep cuts small and controlled, away from your rope and lanyard.

Wipe off sap and keep the pivot clean. When the teeth dull, fit a Pocketboy replacement blade that matches the length and tooth size. Keep it out of the rain when you can, since a wet pivot rusts.
