A full-size 13-inch pruning saw with a shaped grip for long days.
This Jameson 13" ergonomic handle hand saw has a shaped grip that is easier on your hand through a long day of pruning. The 13-inch blade reaches through most limbs a climber cuts by hand.
A pruning job can mean hundreds of saw strokes. A shaped grip spreads the load across your hand and helps you keep control when your forearm starts to tire. The Jameson ergonomic handle is built for that, and the 13-inch blade handles most limbs you would cut by hand rather than with a top-handle saw.
If you prefer the feel of wood, Jameson also makes this saw with a wooden handle. Compare both in our hand saws and scabbards.
A good grip matters most when you are cutting one-handed while positioned on a lanyard, or reaching out to the end of a limb. A secure hold means fewer slips and cleaner cuts at the branch collar, which is better for the tree.
When you carry a hand saw aloft, keep it in a scabbard on your saddle and make two-handed cuts away from your rope and lanyard. Follow ANSI Z133 and get trained before you climb.
Wipe off sap and keep the blade dry. Retire or re-blade the saw when it starts to drift in the cut or the teeth are damaged. Wear gloves that still let you feel the grip.

It handles most limbs a climber would cut by hand. For larger wood, use an appropriate saw and technique.
Most scabbards made for 13-inch saws will fit, but check the blade shape and length before you rely on it.
