PruningGround

This Husqvarna pole saw head holds a pruning saw blade on a center mount, so the blade runs in line with the pole. That alignment makes pull strokes straighter and keeps the saw from twisting in the cut.

Why a center mount matters

When the blade sits off to one side of the pole, every pull stroke tries to roll the saw over, and the cut wanders. A center mount puts the blade right on the pole's axis, so your pull goes straight into the kerf. On long reaches that difference is easy to feel in your shoulders by the end of the day.

The head lets you swap blades as they wear and move between a saw and a pruner head on one set of poles. See the full range of pole saws and scabbards for blades and covers.

A center mount also makes it easier to hook a hanger or stub and pull it free without the head twisting off line.

Setup and care

Make sure the head and blade match your pole system and that the blade bolts are snug before every use; a loose blade chatters and can drop out of the cut. Clean sap off the blade and head at the end of the day and store the saw in a scabbard to protect the teeth and the crew.

Cut from the side, not from directly under the limb, and keep a clear drop zone. Wear a helmet and eye protection, and stay clear of power lines unless you are qualified for line clearance under ANSI Z133.
