PruningGround

This Jameson pole saw kit puts a pruner head, a saw head and fiberglass sectional poles in one package so a crew can start pruning from the ground on day one. The LS series heads lock onto Jameson poles, and you add or remove sections to match the height of the cut.

What the kit covers

Most ground-based pruning comes down to two tools: a jameson pole pruner for clean cuts on small stems and a pole saw for anything thicker. This kit gives you both, plus the poles to run them. Snap the pruner on to tip back sprouts or water shoots, then swap to the saw when you hit a limb the pruner cannot close on.

Sectional poles mean you only carry the length you need. Shorter is more accurate and easier on your shoulders, so start short and add a section when the cut demands it.

Jameson pole saws and pruners are a familiar sight on tree crews and utility trucks, so parts and extra poles are easy to find when something wears out.

Using fiberglass poles safely

Fiberglass is the standard for poles because it is strong, stiff and can be made to resist electrical conduction. That does not make any pole safe near energized lines. Only qualified line-clearance arborists should work near utilities, with tools rated, cleaned and tested for that work under ANSI Z133. Keep the poles clean and dry, inspect for cracks, crushed ends and worn fittings, and retire any section that is damaged.

Store the heads with the blade guarded. Browse more pole saws and poles and kits if you want to add length or spare sections.

Keep the pruner rope in good shape and replace it when it frays, and keep the saw blade sharp or replaced. A dull saw on a long pole wanders and makes you push, which is tiring and less precise.
