SafetyGroundFelling

Husqvarna Technical saw protection gloves put cut-resistant protection on the back of the left hand, where chain contact most often happens, while keeping enough feel to run a saw and handle gear. They suit climbers and ground crews who cut all day.

Why saw protection on the left hand

Your left hand is on the front handle and closest to the chain when a saw kicks back. Saw protection gloves put cut-resistant fibers on the back of that hand, which can slow or stop the chain long enough to reduce injury.

The Technical line is built for feel as well as protection, so you can still work the chain brake, grab rope and handle small hardware without pulling the gloves off.

Husqvarna's Technical line covers a range of saw clothing and protective gear, so the gloves match well with its chaps, pants and jackets. Keep a spare pair in the truck, since wet or torn gloves are a common reason to cut without protection. Gloves with saw protection are bulkier than regular work gloves, so try them with your saw and any gear you handle often.

Fit, care and limits

Gloves should fit snugly without bunching at the fingertips. Too loose and they catch, too tight and your hands tire fast. Wash them as the label directs and keep them away from fuel and bar oil when you can.

Saw protection reduces injury but does not make you cut-proof. Use them with chaps or saw pants, a helmet, eye and hearing protection, and good saw handling as trained. Retire gloves with cuts through the protective layer. See more work gloves.
