The Greenteeth 900 Series straight pocket is a replacement pocket for stump grinder cutter wheels set up with the 900 Series system. The pocket holds the tooth to the wheel, so a worn or damaged pocket has to be replaced to keep the grinder cutting cleanly.

Match the series and pocket style

Greenteeth makes several tooth systems, and a 700 Series pocket will not fit a 900 Series wheel. Check the series on your wheel and teeth before you order. Within a series, pockets come in straight and angled styles that set where each tooth sits across the cut, so replace a straight pocket with a straight pocket in the same position on the wheel.

Matching 900 Series teeth and other grinder parts are in our stump grinding section.

Keep a few spare pockets and teeth in the truck along with the right wrench and bolts. Changing a damaged pocket on site saves a return trip and keeps the grinder cutting evenly, rather than running with a gap in the tooth pattern.

When to replace a pocket

Pockets take a beating from rocks, roots and soil. Replace one when it is cracked, worn thin, bent, or no longer holds the tooth tight. A loose pocket lets the tooth shift, which wears the wheel, causes vibration and can throw parts.

Shut the machine down, remove the key, and let the wheel stop before you work on it. Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's spec, check them again after the first few stumps, and always wear eye and face protection when grinding.
