Straight replacement pocket for the Greenteeth 700 Series stump grinder system.
This Greenteeth 700 Series straight pocket is a replacement pocket for cutter wheels set up with the 700 Series system. The pocket holds the tooth on the wheel, so a worn or damaged pocket needs to be replaced to keep the grinder cutting smoothly.
In a pocket-style stump grinder system, the pocket bolts to the cutter wheel and the tooth sits in the pocket. The pocket takes much of the shock and abrasion from the stump and the dirt around it. On a wheel set up with the greenteeth 700 series, straight pockets are used in specific positions in the cutting pattern, alongside left and right pockets.
Over time, pockets wear from rocks, dirt and the impact of grinding. A worn pocket may not hold the tooth tight, which can let the tooth shift or break. Replacing damaged pockets keeps the teeth secure and the wheel running true.
Keeping spare pockets on the truck means a damaged pocket does not end a grinding day early. Rocks and buried metal can crack a pocket without warning.
Follow your grinder's tooth pattern and the manufacturer's instructions when you replace a pocket, and use the correct hardware torqued to spec. Replace pockets in the same position and orientation as the originals. Check all teeth and bolts at the same time. Always lock out the grinder and let the wheel stop completely before working on it, and wear gloves and eye protection. Browse more stump grinding teeth and parts.
