Replacement spacer for Green Teeth 900-series cutter wheel setups.
This Green Teeth 900 series spacer is part of the hardware that positions teeth and pockets on a stump grinder cutter wheel. Worn or missing spacers let teeth sit out of position, which costs cutting performance and can loosen hardware.
On a Green Teeth wheel, spacers help set the position of the pockets and teeth so they cut in the intended pattern. If a spacer wears, cracks, or is left out, the tooth can sit off line, take extra load, and loosen in use.
When you replace teeth, look at every spacer and pocket. Hardware wear is easy to miss until a tooth comes loose.
A spacer costs little compared with a damaged pocket or a cutter wheel that has been chewed up by a loose tooth, so it is worth replacing worn ones at every tooth change.
Lock out the machine and clean the wheel before you start. Follow the wheel layout chart for your grinder so spacers go back in the right positions, and torque the bolts to spec. Use new bolts if threads are damaged.
Lay the old hardware out in order as it comes off so the new teeth, pockets, and spacers go back in the right places. Keep a few spares in the toolbox so a missing spacer never holds up the job, and recheck bolt torque after the first stump.
Wear eye and face protection and keep bystanders clear when grinding. See more stump grinding parts.
