GroundMaintenancePro grade

These 900 series compatible stump grinding teeth are replacement teeth for grinders set up for the 900 series pocket style. Sharp teeth cut faster, load the machine less, and leave a cleaner hole.

When to replace teeth

Dull or chipped teeth make a grinder bounce, chatter, and work harder. If you see more dust than chips, or the machine struggles in soft wood, look at the teeth. Hitting rocks or metal will chip carbide fast.

Some teeth can be rotated to a fresh edge before you replace them. Check your wheel layout and replace in sets when wear is even.

Keep spare teeth and pocket hardware sorted in the truck, and note how many hours each set lasts so you can plan reorders before a busy week.

Teeth wear faster in sandy or rocky soil. Clean around the stump and remove rocks before grinding to save teeth and keep debris from flying.

Fitting and safety

Confirm your cutter wheel is set up for 900 series style pockets, and torque bolts to the maker's spec. More grinding gear is in stump grinding.

Shut the machine down and remove the key before changing teeth. Wear eye and face protection, chaps or pants, and keep people well back from the grinding area.

Replace pocket bolts and nuts if they are worn or stretched, and check the wheel for cracks. Keep spare teeth in the truck so a broken one does not end the job.
