A classic Marvin pole pruner head supplied with its pole adapter.
The Marvin pruner is a rope-operated pole pruner head for general overhead pruning, supplied here with the adapter that mounts it to a pole. It is a simple, durable tool that crews have relied on for years.
For lifting canopies, clearing suckers and trimming small limbs overhead, a standard pole pruner is the quickest tool on the truck. The Marvin head is simple: a bypass blade, a hook, a spring and a rope. Fewer parts means fewer things to go wrong, and everything that does wear can be replaced.
With the adapter included, you can fit it straight to a compatible pole.
It suits a wide range of users: orchard crews pruning fruit trees, landscapers lifting canopies over walks and drives, and climbing arborists who want a ground tool for quick jobs. The adapter lets you build it into a sectional pole kit alongside a saw head. Keep spare springs and rope on hand, since those wear first. Check the hardware at each blade change, and store the head clean and dry.
Seat the hook fully, then pull with a smooth stroke. Cut just outside the branch collar and avoid stubs. For limbs at the edge of capacity, step up to a pole saw or the Marvin bull pruner rather than forcing it.
Keep the blade sharp and the pivot oiled. Replace the spring when the blade slows. Work clear of power lines unless qualified with rated tools. Browse our pruners and loppers range for more.
