PruningGround

This Jameson pulley pruner comes with the pole adapter and pull rope, so it is ready to mount on a compatible pole. The pulley adds leverage to every pull for cleaner overhead cuts with less effort.

Ready out of the box

Buying just a head often means a second order for an adapter and rope. This version includes both, so if you already have poles, you can fit the head, run the rope and get to work. It is a good way to add a pruner to a pole saw setup or replace a worn head on an existing kit.

The pulley gives a mechanical advantage over a straight pull, which matters on the bigger stems and on long days overhead.

This setup suits arborists who mostly climb but want a pole pruner for jobs where climbing isn't worth it, such as lifting canopies over sidewalks and drives or clearing small deadwood. It is also handy for orchard and landscape crews. Cut just outside the branch collar and avoid tearing bark by finishing each cut before pulling limbs down. For heavier stems, switch to a pole saw. Keep spare springs and a rope in the truck.

Setup and care

Fit the adapter to your top pole section, mount the head and route the rope so it runs freely down the pole without wrapping. Check that the blade opens fully and closes cleanly before use.

Replace the rope when it frays, and the spring when the blade slows. Pole tools near power lines require qualified workers and rated tools. For more heads and kits, see our pruners and loppers section.
