PruningGround

The Jameson JA-14 pruner kit is a complete pole pruner setup built around a fixed pulley pruner head. It gives a ground crew everything needed to make clean overhead cuts without piecing a kit together.

A kit that is ready to go

Buying a kit saves you matching heads, adapters, poles and rope from different listings. The JA-14 is built around a fixed pulley pruner, a simple and dependable design for clean cuts on smaller overhead limbs.

Pair it with a pole saw head for bigger wood. Other kits and heads are in pruners and loppers.

For a new crew member, a complete kit is also easier to learn with. The pruner, poles and rope all work together, so the focus can stay on how to position the head, how to pull smoothly, and where to stand while the cut piece falls. Once that is mastered, adding a saw head or more sections is easy.

Using it safely

Look up and check for power lines before raising the pole, and keep the required distance. Wear a helmet and eye protection and stand to the side of the limb.

After the job, wipe the poles and head clean, oil the pivot and pulley, and check the rope for wear. Store the kit dry, ideally in a pole bag.

Check that the pole joints lock fully before raising the pole, and do not use the pole as a lever or pry bar. Replace any pole section that is cracked or split, and keep a spare rope in the bag in case the main one wears through.
