A foam-core base section that anchors a Jameson sectional pole kit.
The Jameson foam filled base pole is a base section for sectional pole saw and pruner kits. Its foam core fills the inside of the fiberglass tube so moisture, dirt and debris can't collect inside, and the base end gives you a solid section to grip and plant.
A hollow pole is lighter, but the open tube can collect water, dirt and condensation over time. A foam core fills that space. That is why many utility and line clearance crews favor foam-filled poles, especially for the sections nearest the operator's hands.
As the base section, this is the pole you hold and the one that gets planted on the ground. A solid, sealed section there makes the whole kit feel more stable.
Build your kit from the base up. With a sound base section in hand, add hollow or B-Lite sections above it to reach the height you need, keeping the heavier section low where it is easiest to control. Check that every locking fitting engages fully before raising the pole.
Inspect the pole before each use for cracks, gouges, a damaged surface and worn fittings. Keep it clean and stored dry. Many utilities require periodic electrical testing and specific ratings for poles used near energized lines, so check the markings and your employer's rules before any such work.
Never work near power lines unless you are qualified to do so under ANSI Z133 and your employer's program. For upper sections and heads, see our poles and pole kits range.

Only if it is rated and tested for that work and you are a qualified line clearance worker. Foam fill alone does not make a pole safe.
Slightly, compared with a hollow section of the same length, which is why it is often used as the base.
