PruningGround

Jameson B-Lite poles are 8 foot fiberglass pole sections built for pole saw and pruner kits where weight overhead matters. Longer sections mean fewer joints for a given reach, which keeps the pole stiffer and quicker to assemble.

Where 8 ft sections shine

If most of your pole work is high, 8 foot sections get you there with fewer joints than 6 foot poles. Fewer joints means less flex and less play at the head, which helps when you are trying to place a pruner on a small stem near the top of your reach.

Weight is the other half. A pole held overhead all day wears out shoulders, and lighter sections let you keep cutting accurately later in the shift.

Longer sections do take more room in the truck, and an 8 foot pole can be unwieldy in tight yards or under low wires. Many crews run a mix: 8 foot sections for reach on open sites and a shorter section for fine-tuning length. As long as the fittings match, you can build the total length you need from whatever sections you have. Check that every locking button engages fully before raising the pole, and stand clear of the drop zone when cutting overhead.

Care and safety

Check every section before use for cracks, splinters and worn locking fittings, and retire any damaged pole. Keep end caps on and store poles clean and dry.

Pole tools near power lines require qualified workers and tools rated and tested for that use. Do not assume a pole is safe because it is fiberglass. For heads, adapters and complete kits, see our poles and pole kits section.
